I found it in somebody's garage and, I just couldn't pass it up. Schwinn Sierra MOS. I looks like a pretty decent find. It actually came with a triple crank the isn't riveted together.... I know... Show some pictures!!!!!
Its rough I know. But, it's probably spent have its life in a pole barn!!

The stamp on the head plate is 1411. I looked on the bottom of the crank housing but, I don't see anything. Somebody didn't stick the landing and, broke 2 spokes and, tweaked about 4 more.

I like the Rock Ring; has a good look. Took me a minute to figure out how the outer chainring was attached though

Idk it was screwed together until I actually looked at it myself. I thought for sure it was riveted. To me that indicates that it's not an el-cheapo!!!lol!!!😆

Built April 21, 1991. "Sierra" was the top of their MTB line back then. I have the next level down, an Impact Pro MOS, and it's sweet. Did you get a load of those chainstays?

"Rough"? That bike is in awesome shape for nearly 30 years old. Tire(s?) may be original....

Specs - Schwinn catalogs, 1991 - 2000 (18 of 577) .

I'm almost positive they were the original tires. I ended up taking the wheels in to the olde bicycle shoppe because they were really wonky and, missing spokes.

Somebody posted a Pioneer SX-1250 on Craigslist once for $20, didn't stayup for 20 minutes...I'm sure it was a prank but it's amazing what things SWMBO can accomplish.

I guess the Sierra was the successor of the Project KOM-10 (2000 units, made in 1988-1989), which was preceded by the Paramountain. I like my KOM-10 a lot, and it's perfect for Independence Day neighborhood parade in my son's neighborhood. It is almost slick as my younger grandson's Mini stroller.

I have a 1991 Sierra MOS in burnt chrome. I like your stem and handle bars. I'd love to do the same to mine. What stem and bars are those? Thanks.
