RAIN cancelled for 2020
I got an email a few minutes ago saying that RAIN (Ride Across INdiana) has been cancelled for 2020. D*mn. I was looking forward to that ride.

I had never heard of that particular ride so when I saw the thread title, I was thinking that the Corona Virus has gone too far...

ragbrai, iowa's ride, bran(nebraska), tour of MN, etc etc etc have all been canceled.
sucks, but RAIN canceling too makes sense based on everything else canceling.

There are so many rides being out and out cancelled this year and not just postponed. I wonder what 2021 will be like?

the local club is still trying to decide whether to have our big ride and if so, how to do it. There are rest stops, a meal at the end, etc.
A lot will depend on what the state's guidelines are at the time we have to make a go/no-go decision.
There's also the question of whether enough people would still want to show up.
Everyone would love to enjoy a nice ride with their buddies, but no one wants to get ill.
The potential liability issues could be huge... not a lot of incentive to not choose the safest options.

Depending on what the public health orders are at the time, my guess is a lot of people will show up and ride an "unofficial RAIN". Because of the one way nature, private sag crews are the norm, not to mention all the people along the route who give out water, cookies etc. Could be interesting.

I am very very likely doing it, anyway. There are plenty of places/stops.
