...last I heard, he's alive and running the mountain bike museum in Fairfax, CA. So you could probably e-mail him.

yeah email him! also id appreciate some pics of the whole frame. I have not seen a Breezer in yellow before.... repaint or a custom job?

connection to @3alarmer here is that I had a too small breezer briefly as I bought it to transfer the athena 11 speed to my zunow, that 3alarmer facilitated for me! Then I sold the frame to someone else on this list.. cool frame.

zunow still loves the athena

Seconded; I've chatted with him about a Paramount. Shouldn't be difficult to verify.

Looks just like mine on my Lightning MTB. As mentioned above, Venturi was a road model. Other brands used Breezer dropouts, some others like Koski and Ritchey used similar ones also, but these have the name on them.

I believe he is actually a member here, IIRC, he did some posts about the museum, and early MTB history, a while back, maybe one of our learned elders can recall his screen name.

@Repack Rider is Charlie Kelly, maybe he will chime in and I think you're right about Joe Breeze as well though I think we here from him a lot less.

The breezer dropouts are hooded and offer a different interface between dropout and stays. This hooded style give a lot of surface room for connecting with fillet brazes or tights welding.

Breezer as a brand sure doesnt seem to be known for road bikes, but some models were made. And the current Breezer brand has a few gravel/adventure road models.

It's a Koski dropout. Invented by the Koski brothers (Don, Erik, Dave) who designed the ProCruiser and the Trailmaster bikes in the '80s.

And thus we bow to the wisdom of our elders...
