what's the reason for the middle tube? Does larger frames need more rigidity because of the tall headtube? I find it odd tbh

here is a quick back story. In mid-December she wrecked her bike and fractured her pelvis in two places and her tail bone. So a very long recovery process and she ended up talking to Roundtail about the upcoming tour we are going on and how these bikes are supposed to provide a less harsh ride. They thought it was a great way to get some exposure and she doesn't have pain after riding this bike (as opposed to her trek).

In short, they gave her the bike as a sponsorship.

On the way back from a 30ish mile ride today, I got hit with such an insane headwind coming over the Salem/Beverly bridge that I literally had to get off and walk (and even that was tough). So stupid. When I got back to the shop - which is right at the bottom of the bridge - a roadie who was really out of breath stopped and said "Don't sweat it, man. I had to do the same thing!"

I gave him a Gatorade, some Sport Beans and we laughed about how ridiculous it was that neither one of us could even make our cranks move against that wind.

truth haha it only weighs in at like 19 lbs. Those absurd carbon wheels are boat anchors.

lol she says her tailbone is what hurts most.

I got my bike for free last year. Convince people that you can share their product with tons of people and someone will agree with you.

Wow.... that's quite an interesting frameset. Now, I'm going to not post this in the jackass thread out of respect.

Out of curiosity, how much do those wheels weigh? Are they re-branded carbon wheels from a bigger manufacturer?

Deep carbon wheels are on my wishlist right now. :0

no idea. The front one isn't too bad but the back one weighs more than my Mavic A317 to shimano xt disc hub with apex cassette.

supposed to have a longer seat tube sticking out for this sized frame but they cut it to fit her a little better since she lost a little flexibility since the accident. After we go on a few rides ill let you know what she has to say. It is supposed to be less harsh due to no strait tubes in the rear "triangle".

Fell in love with a house today. Trying hard not to think about it, since we won't hear back from the landlords until next week. FUUUUU.

Also, pulled 2 Bs and 2 Cs this semester. Not my best work, but considering I had a job change in the middle of it I'm not terribly upset.

Also also, Mother-in-law and father-in-law both have cancer. Wife has a growth on her thyroid that _might_ be cancerous. This next 8 months is going to be pretty hellish.

Best of luck with the house, and your Mother/Father in law
