I'm 63 riding a KMX clone and a homemade tadpole trike. I have balance problems, 2 torn disc in my lower back, have had neck fusion and loss of feeling in my left arm. I can ride forever it seems without pain or worry about falling off. Get lots of thumbs up and lots of questions from people young and old thinking about getting a trike. Without my trikes I'd get little to no excersize and life would be very boring!

71 Years old. I ride a Terratrike Rover about 140 miles per week. Have been riding recumbents for about 13 years, and DF bikes since the early 50's. Probably have biked well over 250,000 miles since I started as a young teenager.

26 years old here and I ride a Catrike Trail. I commute 4 days a week to college on different types of roads; many times with heavy traffic. I also do shopping trips and run errands. I usually don't use MUPs because the only one somewhat close (~20 miles away) doesn't really go anywhere I need to go.

Just turned 61 at the end of May and after test riding a Catrike Trail last week, I am now looking into buying a tadpole recumbent. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

Im 73 and plan to buy a TT Cruiser in the spring. I will share it with my 68 year old wife. When we ride together I will still ride my Rans Stratus. My "stable" will then have the Stratus, a mountain bike, and the trike.

You probably had a trike as a kid, which means a trike is an OLD trick. If you want to learn a NEW trick, get a lowracer!

Since my original post to this thread, post #104 above, I was able to buy a home-built tadpole trike that was listed on the local Craigslist. The thing is, my wife thought I was buying it for her. So, my wife, who's the same age as me, has gotten back into biking, something she has been unable to do for many years due to issues with her knees. She's unable to pedal a diamond frame bike, but has no problems with the trike. In fact, after a short ride this morning, she told me she actually had fun riding. As for me, my search for a tadpole trike continues!

52 and got my first 'bent trike (ABT1X) last month in the middle of August. I need elbow surgery and wrist surgery on both sides, and became unable to ride a DF due to the pain. I went with a trike because I need to be able to ride with one arm while one is in rehab mode. We are now very car lite and as soon as our son moves to his new place, we will be car free. I start class at our Community College in January and anticipate having to commute there and back (22 mi one way). I have already been doing a few utility runs with my trailer to the recycle place and we ride to the Post Office 5x a week (11.3 mi. round trip).

As of Saturday EZ-3 delta with a motor; added to an EZ-Tadpole with a more powerful motor, and a Catrike Pocket with no motor for the shorter flats. Craigslist is addictive for me.

70 here, newby to trikes(don't own one yet.) This tread was real encouraging.

I too am a bit concerned about high traffic, no shoulder roads. 'Course, a PM I got from a trike fellow who stated he'd ridden trikes 27,000 miles and is still alive says a lot. I have heard that drivers think that ppl riding a trike fall in the same category of ppl in wheel chairs, so do give them extra room

Heading to Austin tomorrow to do the test drives. Closest city with a shop with a large collection in stock.

I rode quite a bit when I was much younger in the hills of Carolina. We raised a family and 25 years later decided to ride again. We have a great pair of mountain bikes and rod bikes, but after testing a few trikes I was hooked and took home a Catrike Expedition. Soon to be two of them as my wife now wants one.

I've always been a four wheel person. Ride motocross and ATV's, liked the ATV's much better. Road a Goldwing and Porsche Targa, liked the Targa much better. Balance was never a problem.

We ride about 100 miles a week strictly for pleasure.
