B.E.I. vintage disc brakes (1976?)
This set of vintage disc brakes turned up at our co-op. Does anyone know anything about them? I haven't found anything on the internet, but that might just be my poor searching skills.
They're marked "B.E.I. patent pending" and there's something that looks like a date stamp of 5 76, so possibly from 1976. The rotor is threaded like it might go on a threaded tandem hub. The two calipers are slightly different, suggesting a set of front and rear. It looks like they were perhaps bolted onto the axle in such a way that the fork (front) or seatstay (rear) would be between the rubber pads at the top of the caliper? I'm not sure what hardware is missing.
I'd love to know what it would take to get them functional and whether that's worth doing.

That is a new one to me.
look of decent quality in attempt
i agree the rubber lined U is for a stay- not sure which stay.
pad inspection and mechanism review for any lubrication needed are in order.
campagnolo made long ago motorcycle disc brakes, cable operated. They made the hub and rotors, levers too.
