Crank problems
Hello so I'm building a old Italian bike and I was thinking of a rotor 30mm crankset that I already have. I got the bb for the bike and turns out the spindle is too short. Is it the bb or the crank? Any ideas? I'm about to give up on this project.
Thanks.
Thanks.

My guess is your Italian bike is probably a 70mm shell width (standard italian) and your new crank/BB is designed for 68mm shell width
Measure first and buy once.

I don't know what your BB is or frame shell, so I can't say. You need to determine your shell width and threading and ask Rotor.

Most 30mm cranksets are made for press fit frames where the bearing are inside the frame. There are 30mm bottom brackets for threaded frames, but the bearings are outside the frame and require a special crankset with a longer spindle. If the Rotor crank is a PF30 or BB30, it will never fit that frame.

The frame size is 58cm c to c and the top tube is 58cm c to c.
Head tube is 6 3/8".
The steerer tube threading is English/ISO/Italian (25.4mm x 24TPI).
The seat post diameter is 27.2mm.
Back spacing is 126mm.
BB threading is 36 x 24 Italian and has been faced and chased.

That depends on what bottom bracket you have. The only crankset that I know of that works with an external 30mm bottom bracket if the FSA 386 EVO system.
