You say that like it’s a bad thing.

Bummer. Looks like tomorrow's mid-week fun ride is going to be cancelled due to rain. I am still thinking of going on a ride, solo, on my rain bike/beater, on the trails to Philly and back. Maybe. Stupid weather.

Might rain Saturday morning as well. Even if the rain ends tomorrow it's going to be gloomy and damp and windy. No sense riding down the river in those conditions. It's a bright sun that makes that area visually appealing.

Agree. We have really been spoiled the past few months with amazingly good cycling weather. I suppose it was inevitable that chilly wet weather would return.

Hoping for a late warm up. I remember several years ago there was a December weekend in the 70s. Took a three-day trip and had Sunday breakfast outside in Ocean City, NJ, with summer riding clothes. The bummer is that I have business travel the next two weeks. Just overnight trips, but they interfere with potential long-weekend tours.

New Jersey is usually a safe bet. May try Wharton State Forest, which I have never camped in. Unfortunately, French Creek S.P. camping ends on 10/31.

Only on display. No personal participation. We ate dinner one night on Bourbon Street. Ticky-tacky out in the street when we were done.
Unless overeating falls under the term debauchery. We did plenty of that. Not your thing, I know, but we have settled on the very best fried chicken in New Orleans, and that is saying something. In our opinion it is at Joey K’s on Magazine Street. It is a Triple D (Diners, Drive-one and Dives) alumnus. Best chicken and excellent red beans and mac and cheese on the side. John Goodman’s (the actor’s) wife has a kid’s clothing store across the street that we shop at on every visit (grandkids, you know) and then it is lunch at Joey K’s. They say John Goodman can be seen there from time to time, but he has escaped us so far. The chicken is super moist and crunchy, crunchy. Fried to order and hot from the fryer. I’m in love.
