But at the very least the driver that hit Mr Dobson is guilty of manslaughter!!!!! That is a crime.

You don't understand how the law works. Do you even know what the legal definition of manslaughter is in the relevant jurisdiction? Just because someone died as the result of actions by a drivers does not necessarily mean the driver committed manslaughter.

Looked it up briefly. IIRC, some guy who riding across the country for charitable purposes.
People need to let go of the myth that a driver is automatically guilty of crime when a cyclist, pedestrian, or anyone else is killed in a collision.

DA’s, especially in Mississippi don’t bring a case to a grand jury without beyond probable cause. But secrecy traditions says we’ll never know.
But hey, let go your “myth!”

So if you kill someone with a car it is not a crime? If true, then we are back to my point. If you are so deranged you want someone dead, buy them a bike and run over them!!!!!

Definition of accident https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/accident
1a : an unforeseen and unplanned event or circumstance.
b : lack of intention or necessity : chance
What are the other 99%? Foreseen and planned crashes? Or intentional crashes?1a : an unforeseen and unplanned event or circumstance.
b : lack of intention or necessity : chance
Or doesn't conventional use of the English language fit your construct?

Just wondering, what do you all call going 85mph in a 65mph zone and hitting and killing someone?
Or does posting a broken record mean more to you than a dead person?

So like in this case if a cyclist is riding on the road in his lane, and a driver going 85 mph hits him from behind, the driver is not guilty, and it is just a myth the cyclist is dead?? Please!!!!!!
