anyone know the dimensions for the rear eyelets on a 1987 Cannondale touring bike?

most frames use 5mmx0.8. I'd be surprised if your frame was different, but that doesn't mean it isn't

I've got a similar vintage Canondale touring frame. On mine the rear dropout holes where a very odd size. I suspect it was supposed to have stainless inserts. If your bike has that then it's most likely 5.0 x 0.8 screws you want. If not then you could do what I did and run some 6.0 x 1.0mm Helicoil inserts in after tapping the holes to take the inserts.
