Mavic Rims and Shimano Hubs
I need some help from anyone who has a similar setup. I'm building new set of wheels using mavic open pro rims and shimano xt hubs. The rear is 9 speed. Neither is using disc brakes and they are 32h rims and hubs. I'm trying to decide whether to build them 3 or 4 cross. Has anyone built a similar setup using 4 cross? I'm wondering if there is any interference between the adjacent spokes.

I've never owned or ridden 4x wheels, but I can say that Mavic-Shimano 32 3x has been done thousands of times. As long as the build is competent, they'll last forever.

While I'm impressed with your algebraic skills, i'm not sure you understand the question.

The "divide by nine" rule gives the largest number of crosses before spokes go beyond tangential.
