Let's see your parts bin bike
You know, when you get enough stuff in your parts bin and say, I've got enough stuff to build up an entire bike, all I need is a frame. Definitely a kluge of parts. Definitely not original.
Just finished this one. Coolest part is the FB BB spindle. Also has an FB crank and hubs. Not certain of the pedals, I only know they were made in England. D'Alessandro clincher rims with Pasela 35mm tires. Universal Sport calipers with Tektro levers. FISEA saddle Kalloy post. Ambrosio stem. I did purchase the bars and fenders specific, but why not, I had a theme going. I bought a cheap frame, 1953ish Bianchi Selvino. Originally a 3-speed city bike. It does have an interesting internal cable guide for the Simplex rear derailleur. I'm keeping it a single speed. The frame was really beat so I gave it a cheap powder coat.

I just finished the Trek 660. Parts I had laying around, and a few parts off the classified section. Suntour Honor r/d, unknown shimano f/d, sugino triple crankset. Waiting on a Cinelli stem to go with the cinelli bars, this is the only stem I had and its way to short.., Bontrager tires that were takeoffs from a Madone I use to have. And a set of wheels that I have had laying around for years.I had to order a new saddle,I didnt have any decent seat laying around. Should be a nice beat around rainy day bike.

I guess my Peugeot commuter qualifies, although your Bianchi is much prettier. I bought it as a bare frame in late 1973 when I worked at a Peugeot/Nishiki dealership and built it up originally for my wife. Since she now prefers riding offroad, I built her a mountain bike and converted the Peugeot into my beater/transportation/commuter steed.

I built up two Bridgestones from parts in my bin. One is my RB-1; the other is my commuter, a BB-1. I cheated a bit on the commuter though as the pedals are new, . And both bikes are red.

My Viscount 3-speed fixed gear conversion:
I got this as a bare frame, no fork, headset, bottom bracket, or anything. Reamed and tapped the shell for Italian thread, installed a Campy ATB cups (with neoprene seals) and a 68mm Campy Pista spindle. Mounted a Sakae Ringyo 165mm drive side crank arm with a 48T Sugino "Mighty Competition" 48T ring, no-name bolts, and Campy dustcaps, and a Zeus 165mm non-drive-side crank arm on the other side. Lyotard mod. 23 pedals. 3TTT stem and Nitto Randoneur bars with CLB guidonnet levers and calipers. Sturmey-Archer S3X rear hub on Campy Omega Strata Hardox rim and Shimano Deore XT high flange front hub with Rigida rim. Sakae Ringyo Simplex-copy seat post and Brooks Professional saddle. Tange Levin headset. Planet Bike fenders. Panaracer Pasala tires, 23mm front, 25mm rear. Tange steel fork with Takahashi crown and Tange TR fork ends.

Not sure if this counts but it took a lot of parts from the bin lol. Bridgestone MB-6 converted single speed for my son and he says it is super fun to ride but it's not pretty lol. Components shown in pictures.

My city bike: all Reynolds frame with Durifort stays and fork (the French and their stickers!). Since the pic, I delrinised it by swapping the SLJ derailer for a humble S 001. Shifts great, BTW. I only use the inner chain ring. Set of CLB brakes with universal levers (I think), and a no name moustache bar. The C&V answer to hectic traffic: half cages and a bar end shifter. It's the bike I have ridden the most so far this year.

Ah yes, I recognize this. You were working on it when I came up to retrieve the Mercian. Turned out nicely. Did you build that with a modern SA 5-speed?

I havent' posted this pic for at least a month so.....
I am not sure it even qualifies! I participated as a victum in an accident in 2009 while riding my 72 Le Champion. The parts went into a bin (qualified?). I purchased this 620 out of desparation during the first year of my new location. I wanted a steel 531 frame and thought a Trek 600 series, minimum was ok. I needed a rides so when this showed up on CL, I bit. Too much so. Nearly all the parts were junk as a result of corrosion. I rode it after cleanining it up, until my stash arrived. Since I didn't think I would ever recoup my investment, I decided to make it mine. The thought was a bike I didn't care too much about that I could ride and lock up. The '83 Colnango doesn't fit this use!
With my other bikes finally moved, I stripped this puppy down and did some modifications. Keep in mind this frame had the eyelettes drewed off so full restoration wasn't really possible, in addition, there were an extra set of bottle cage mounts. The eyeletts were replaced, STI DT adjustable cable stops added along with rack bosses on the SS's. Most of the parts from the Le Champion were mounted on the bare frame to see if it was worth the effort to finsh. The BB and HS are original and in good shape, surprisingly. A Campagnolo Record seat post was in the bin along with Cinelli Bars and Stem. The DT's were replaced with Barcons. In this picture, I used some plastic tape from 1973 or some time + or - 5 years. The pedals were a CL purchase and since they are Campagnolo, they went well with the NR stuff. The wheels were a find in CL as well and are Campagnolo LF with GP4's. Yes, tubulars. I like them.
The wheels currently are on the Colnago. I have since picked up several other sets and haven't decided which will end up on this bike. Likely something with 7 speeds, or not. The saddle was also a CL purchase because it was available!
For those of you that noticed, these are 700C wheels on a frame that was built and sold with 27". The Universal Mod 61 work really well. I have since replaced the hoods with reproductions.
Thanks for looking.

thats not a bad idea, most of the bikes i come across are crashed, mostly out of the scrap bin at the coop, thats where i found the Super Le Tour 12.2 frame... this bike is actually a Scap Bin build, instead of a Parts Bin build..

Your eyes deceive you! That's a freewheel and a Campy SR rear derailleur. I did put a modern SA 5-speed hub w/ bar-end shifter on a '73 Super Course fairly recently. Might have posted a pic in the Super Course thread.

Gotta have before and after pics to be able to post a bike in a phoenix thread. I like it. Looks like you should start it since you have a few bikes that fit the thread.

I built this for a friend. Most is original. Stuff from my parts bin:
fixie hub
rear rim (700c)
spokes (yes I really had the right size lying around!)
pedals
bars
stem
brake lever
I had my friend buy new cog and chain, so it has two new parts on it.

You gonna eat that?
This is one of my knock-around bikes I put together a couple years ago. I usually use it for rides with my wife.
It's a 1983 Raleigh Marathon that suffered derailleur hanger damage. I should have thrown the frame out but didn't. Eventually I picked up a 2-speed kickback hub wheel on CL and refitted it with cruiser bars and an old Brooks saddle. I think I've got less than $150 in the bike (including new tires I put on last week).
