On a fast hand shake deal where both sides get something fair...I'd say $1000 or less. Is it potentially worth more? Yes...but unless you want to put in work, and have risk, you shouldn't expect it. I think some where between 800-1000 is right"on that sort of sale.

You may well end up keeping the bike and that is no bad thing.

IMO that isn't a 2k bike. It's nice, but it's not close to being in that category - and that's with a seller with a reputation and who knows what he's doing.
At the end of the day it's just an SLX Merckx with a common merckx paint scheme and parts that have limited appeal (and which aren't right on the bike for most). Sorry, but it just isn't that special. It doesn't even have a totally consistent parts group.

Posts in a valuation forum looking for a price. Locks onto the highest number that was tossed to him. Okey dokey.

I just got my 1990 Eddy Merxck 7-Eleven with OEM Dura Ace for $1000 off Craigs..........from the original owner.
So yeah, I hope the OP gets his $2G's.........but I doubt it

Were this my bike, i'd have to install some D-A -- those Campy bits would look great on any number of other Italian frames though
You have to admit , you got a pretty decent deal on your rig though

I have a Motorola team bike that came with dura ace/down tube group. I know that the team used that but, I replaced it with chorus 8 speed sti. I just love that group better. However, I did keep the dura ace kit on my 7-11 bike. On my Merckx team Kelme bike, I also have chorus 8 speed, as well as my other Merckx team bike. So, out of 4 Merckx team bikes only one has the dura ace group. Merckx bikes are much closer to Italian pedigree than anything else, since De Rosa taught Merckx how to build bikes, and, in fact, those Merckx frames of the 80's and 90s, are pretty much identical to De Rosa bikes.

Yeah.... a true Slurpie fan is not gonna want all that Campy.....and if not a Slurpie fan, who's gonna pay 2g's for a 1990's bike?
Now if I got it for a grand I'd strip the C Record and put it on my next Italian build - an ALan Glued and screwed frame..........now that would be So Sweet!!
I got my bike for the Erocia ride out here in CA knowing I'm going to have to downgrade parts to get it to pass....non aero brakes and toe clip pedals/Ugh! but it will be a blast. After the ride in April I'll upgrade to STI and modern wheels for a daily driver.
Money talks!......the original owner posted the bike for $1500........I was local and said I got $1000 Now to deliver TODAY..he took it!

Hi, the size can be measured from the center of the bottom Bracket to the center of the Seat tube, (in cm) isnt there a serialnumber on the bottom of the BB? Can you take a picture of it? There you mostly can define the size and year of manufactory Grts

There were quite a few made in the 7-11 colors for at least two years. They made the corsa, corsa extra in those colors. I think the rarest one and the one most collectors want is the TEAM 7-11 made with TSX tubing....That one may be worth around 2k with a nice dura ace group on it. The other ones, probably from 500-1200 depending on condition and group.

At $2K, you should make plans to keep that beautiful bike or have one of these guys who told you it is worth that much pony up the funds. Yeah right! I think even at $1500 it would be a tough sell on eBay with world wide shipping. You should realistically expect $750-1000 for this bike in a face to face deal and that's because you live in Colorado. You are in a great area for selling a bike..... so see what the local market bears and get back to us with the results. Even at $1K price, you'd be competing with a lot of bikes price wise on the used market and some on the new market.. Including 80's and 90's custom steel bikes that cost more new (Davidson, Waterford, etc). Keep that in mind. If I were closer and the asking was half- $750-$1000, I'd wanna take a look. But you do understand you won't sell it for $2K here right? That seems way over the top for what I'm seeing comparable high end used vintage road bikes sell at. Many members here are very informed on value. Just read thread after thread in C&V value/appraisals for proof. Nothing wrong at all with keeping that one. If it were mine, you'd have to pry it out of my dead hands. But again, that doesn't mean it's worth more than what it is. Attachment is the biggest hindrance to a seller.

Hmmm. Don't think I'd be quite that drastic. Agreed that it's a buyer's market right now, has been for some time. Which is great for those of us with the space and financial resources to buy up some exceptional bikes at very fair prices.
So, as a guy who buys these kinds of bikes (and owns a few Merckx as well), assuming no major issues with the frame or components not seen in the photos, I'd say probably a $1200-ish bike in a private sale. Could be a $1500 bike to the right buyer, sold in the right venue, but not in a private sale. More $ than that...likely not, at least not now. While a desireable and popular color scheme, they made a bunch of these and they are not particularly rare.
If you want to make your $2K estimate, keep it in a climate controlled environment and hang onto it for a couple of years until the market turns around. It will eventually. Considering what you have invested in it, you really have nothing to lose.
