Bianchi Super Leggera with album

Hey everybody, so a buddy posted a few pictures of this Bianchi a while back wondering the value. Well, I purchased it at the advice of the forum members and now have better pictures and I also was able to find what I believe is the original back wheel to it. I could not find the original front wheel. I think it's in pretty good condition and only one small spot of surface rust on the top tube seen in the pictures. It supposedly just had a full tune up a few weeks ago according to the previous owner.

I believe the pat # on the rear derailleur is used to date it, it says pat 80. Anyways, I am looking to sell this bicycle for the largest amount of profit I can without piecing it out just for sake of time. Can anyone give me an idea of the value more that I've got tons of pictures of the entire bicycle? Also, what would you all suggest would be the best way to maximize the amount it will sell for and where it would be best suited to

Thank you thank you for any and all advice and valuations. I really appreciate it!!!!

Thanks for the pictures.

Machine right near the beginning of the Piaggio period.

Bianchi USA headquarters at this time were in South San Francisco, California. Subsequently moved across the bay to Hayward, California.

Does the retailer transfer on the seat tube read "Bicycle Outfitter"?

I took pictures of what I thought you meant. It says the peddaler I believe on the sticker. If not please let me know where to look. Thank you for looking and for the knowledge!

Thank you for the additional images. The Pedaler Bicycle shop is located in El Sobrante, California. It is still in business and hosts regular swap meets in the parking lot. The telephone area code shown on the transfer has changed; it the early nineties it became area code 510.

If you are trying to get the most for this bike, you will need to give it a full tune-up (clean and grease all bearings), tear the bike down to polish and wax all paint, replace brake hoods, replace all worn consumables, etc. Just like selling a used car, you won't get top dollar if it needs new tires and brakes, is dirty, etc.

The opportunity for the highest price will be on eBay, but the selling costs will also be highest there. Go to eBay and search the sold section for comparable bikes to get an idea of value.

I believe this is likely an 81 or later Super Leggera with an earlier derailleur. 79-80 Super Leggeras (almost always) had chrome head tube lugs. Super Leggeras also came with NR rear derailleurs, not SR. The Super Corsa came with SR. You have the correct Mavic OR 10 rear wheel which is kind of rare (the Super Corsa came with OR 7 rims). I've bought, sold and owned a couple of these. It's in rough shape and missing some original equipment. I'd say you will be lucky to get $1000 for it in the shape it is in. I'd love to have the brake calipers if you decide to part it out.

For sure. 1000.00 seems rather high. I'm thinking around 5-700 for it. These are fairly common. The ones from the 70's are the ones that get more money. Good luck however.
