Some ride pics

On vacation this week but the flu has kept me off the road until today, (well, a little yesterday).
I went over the hills into the adjacent valley and back for about 50 miles. Felt O.K. considering how sick I was.
Early in the first climb, I have to go up there.

Looking back from there a few minutes later.

The first summit is a little further.

At the first summit, looking toward the second. The road cut to the left way up there is another option, which I skipped today.

The second summit is a few minutes away.

Looking toward the next valley from the second summit.

I decided to take the easier way back, but still some climbs ahead. A great thing they did out here is build a network of bike paths that you can use to get around. Good stuff.

One of the last climbs before the rollers and headwinds.

Back at the pad.

Looks good John, I got 35 in today and the wind was blowing like hell, as always.
Why did you park in the ditch?

Thanks, George. I rarely use that truck and the rain has made the weeds grow taller. Sometimes it gets 3-4 feet high.

It's a '77 GMC. I've had it about 10 years. I put an overdrive trans in it and it drives great. It's just too thirsty for gasoline. I drive a 1986 S-10 Blazer that I've had for 13 years.
I had a '65 Chevy truck for 19 years, that thing was great. It had a straight 6, 3 on the tree, and manual overdrive. About 20mpg. I sold it because my ex-wife hated it. Should have kept it and dumped her.

Beautiful countryside for a ride. Nice pics.

Didn't see any cars in the pics. I'm assuming there was little traffic. What a deal.

I like riding in our hills especially when the traffic is light. Very peaceful. Last Saturday, a friend and I rode out a back country road with little traffic and wind. We could hear the water rushing over the rocks in the river which parallels the road for a while. Very peaceful.

Brings back memories of the hills around San Diego. I sent a few years there in the late 70's, thanks for the time machine!

Yes, doctor j, very few cars in the hills. Down in the valleys is a different story. The bike path pic is in the Santa Clarita Valley, an area notorious for it's maniac drivers and heavy traffic.
The air out there is usually more clear than the L.A. basin or the San Fernando Valley, (where I live).
I didn't take any pics of the traffic, figured you all know what that looks like and besides I was kinda busy.

Do you mean you can't see them or where is the location? It's the western San Gabriel Mountains, north of L.A.

funny the link shows up in my email notification but not on this page

the link looked a little weird though

most photo links in my emails show only one http but yours had two

not sure if this example will work:
Image: https://a-world.net/files/bf/cycleoxford.jpg

yours was like this:
Image: https://

are you hand-typing the link(s)?

I think photobucket gives you a couple options for copying a link address. maybe try a different one?

not sure why I'm the only one with this issue. I'm using firefox 5.0

Hmmm. Those pictures appear to contain hills. Climbs. Up-going. Hard work. Effort. You call that fun?!
