I regularly do 50 mile charity rides on my 26" BMX. Takes about four and a half hours.
Here's a shot of me on the Livestrong Challenge 30-mile loop, riding my 24".

might take some hunting, and/or be willing to pay quite a bit, but you might find one of the old f1 bikes. there a hutch without the fairing on ebay right now.

i was gonna take a try at buying it, but my funds are too low right now.

I used to ride 50 miles, but now I can't due to stamina problem.

Very doable on a BMX. I met a dude once who had to commute via bike 30 mi or so after getting too many DUIs. He could only find a BMX from a family member and had to ride that for two weeks to get to work.

You can ride pretty far. We used to ride up South Moutain and hang out. About 10 mile round trip. Or ride to Park and Swap held at the Phx dog track to look for bmx parts. That was about 10 miles each way but we also stopped and jumped off docks and anything else we could find. In the early 80s.
