Help removing quill stem

Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Yep. The seat post fought me all the way getting it out, but I got it by just pulling and twisting. I had greased it when I did the assembly, but it was still stuck. I worked up a good sweat in the process.

The bottom bracket required a 30" breaker bar, but I had locktite on it because it has Italian threads. The cable housing ends were rusted and swollen so it was hard to get them out of the brakes. I guess there is a down side to riding all the time :-)

Frame being stripped of powder coat.

Ball hone in steerer.

Ball hone in head tube.

After ball hone in seat tube
I purchase a couple ball hones to clean up the inside of the tubes before painting. I did the seat tube and it came out great. It is hard to take a picture of the inside of the tube, but it looks like the inside of an engine cylinder. I hope to have the frame ready this weekend.

I had coated the inside of the frame with "frame saver" spray. I am not impressed with the protection.
