Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

attack of zombie thread!
I love my origin8 pro track crankset. the external bb one, not the square tapers.

I have a Origin 8 seat clamp and there Ultim8 seat post. The clamp is just basic but seems fine. The seat post is 235g has a really cool and easy fastening clamp and the quality seems real good.Oh yeah only $26. It`s not Thomson quality but for the money it`s pretty darn good.

I have their leather double straps. They are ok, but they slip a lot. I got them at half off though, so I'm not complaining.

I find their stems and track pedals to be decent. Work as designed so far. Good budget choice, in my limited experience.

Was looking at a pair of risers from them on Amazon. Low price scared me away initially but perhaps I should re-consider.

This saddle came on a restored Shogun that I bought for when there's snow on the ground. Hurt my ass after like 10 minutes of riding. **** that. That's the only thing I've tried from them.

The Origin8 welds are not as nice as the Surly welds. The Origin8 700cx [2014 model] is definitely a heavier frame than the S. Cross Check. On top of that the 700cx has a slanted the top tube and ugly outer supports to the top tube and down tube. That frame was better in 2011. ALL are hands above Walmart brands. Take any bike from Walmart apart and look at the joins.

That explains why my long haul trucker is steel and not carbon fiber.

I bought some Origin8 Pro Form UL pedals for my Steamroller and I think they're fantastic. They spin nearly as nice as my old Crupi Pro squares from my BMX days for like half the price. I was impressed.

I've got nearly 5K miles on my O8 700CX ("O8" meaning Origin 8,not 2008,it's an '11 model ) frame/fork,which also has the O8 crankset/BB (still in use, lovingly maintained though, meaning regularly serviced),it's seen lotsa road and gravel mileage, and it's been on every technical singletrack trail my 29"er mtn bike has except one (and that's only cause it hasn't worked out to have it out to that one as of yet). I'm contemplating selling off the frame/fork and replacing any worn out bits for a Cross Check frame/fork set...nothig wrong with the O8,but it's a PITA to run fenders on,and I wanna run fenders this season on some rail trail touring (the CC is a bit easier on the installing of em,plus I dig all things Surly and that lime green calls to me in my sleep )

Any saddle would say 'ouch' with you sitting on it wouldn't it?

I have an Origen 8 Black Ops carbon fork on my hybrid, no complaints. Rides a lot nicer than the POS RockShox that came on the bike.

i have an entire beer bike made of o8 parts. the frame and crank flex like crazy and their logo is smeared everywhere but its a fine little cheapo cruiser i dont mind locking up. even their faux brooks pleather saddle is comfy. decent track drops too
