One song that probably fits that description, but is a rather catchy tune with a message to boot.

Being that I live in what I call a small town, and it's a Saturday night.......an appropriate song for the occasion.

Maybe more folk than country to some.

You might've heard Johnny Cash's cover of this one. This isn't even the original.

I'm not even sure if this is the original. It certainly isn't the first by that title.

I don't really like Blake Shelton.. or country music, for that matter, but that's not bad.

Heck, even my very religious mother in law (rest her soul) was tapping her feet to that tune.

Been listening to some bluegrass flat-top picking lately. Damn these guys are good, Practice practice practice (which I didn't)

Fifteen dollars is my gain, fifteen is my draw
Randall Collins is my name, down in Arkansas
Rollin' dice in the railroad yard, won't get'cha too much, Jack
Workin' on that section gang will surely bust your back
Fifteen dollars is my gain, fifteen is my draw
Randall Collins is my name, down in Arkansas
Just a hidin' out by the water tank where the shade is cool
Just watchin' that straw boss hunt for me, I ain't no-body's fool.
And fifteen dollars is my gain, fifteen is my draw.
Randall Collins is my name, down in Arkansas
They're makin' up a train in the Memphis yard, the longest I ever saw
I'll ride it down to Fairbanks, down in Arkansas
And fifteen dollars is my gain, fifteen is my draw
Randall Collins is my name, down in Arkansas

More masters of this here instrument which most mere mortals cannot begin to elicit such brilliantly done rapid riffs from.

Jazzin' up old fiddle tunes was much of what Bob Wills bands did

"We didn't come to stay. We came to play."

The Light Crust Doughboys was a Western Swing band sponsored by Burrus Mill and Elevator Company in Saginaw, Texas. They launched the careers of Bob Wills and Milton Brown and provided a platform for many of the best musicians of the genre. Their heyday was in the '30s up until '42 when they disbanded with U.S involvement in World War II, and its final recording was released in 1948.
