Just wanted to say how much fun I am having.
I realize I am in the minority with the more expensive models and all of the Treks, Giants and Specialized bikes here but I am really enjoying my Cannondale Quick. It is a lower model but once I got the front derailleur sorted out, thanks to the people on this forum, it has been such a enjoyable ride. I have learned the cost of buying a bike from a store going out of business as I had nowhere to go back to to make the fine adjustments I needed. In the long run I now have the knowledge to sort out the details myself. What has been said here so many times, get the bike fit to you, is so true. Now that I have it right it is just fun and I look forward to getting away on it as often as I can.
Thanks for all the help here and on the Forum in general. Turn 70 on the eleventh of this month and I am just a riding fool.
Frank.

Frank, gotta say when I scan through the threads this one brings a grin.
Today I'll take the long loop as soon as the roads dry a bit.

Yep, this is definitely a fun hobby. Now that it's cooled off a bit I'm spending more time on bike maintenance, which I also enjoy.
Nice C'Dale. I'm going to miss V-brakes when they're gone.

I know what you mean. That baby will definitely put a smile on your face. I have a roadie for "serious" rides, but if I just want to have fun, I grab the hybrid.

Yeah, and don't let anybody talk bad about your riding a hybrid. They are great bikes, the wheels are round and it's a really fun riding position for those of us who aren't training for the TdF. I remodeled my adventure bike with butterfly handlebars and mtb gearing, making it essentially a hybrid. Or maybe it was already a hybrid. Whatever you want to call it, a bike that is fun to ride clearly improves the quality of life. You absolutely nailed it. KUDOS, sir.

Fun is what it’s all about! If you’re not a paid racer, you’re doing it because you want to. Have fun with it.

Congratulations on that Cannondale! Yes, one can spend a reasonable sum and get a fine bike as you have shown. My ride is a Giant FCR3 which was the "entry level" model of the FCR series.
