Beyond "Classic"

I ran across this Classic today and picked it up strictly for the beauty of the chainring. For less then the price of cheap tire I took it home with me and after a quick inspection Im very glad I did . Beautiful lug work and still has the Badge. A french Beauty indeed. Automoto. but what model .

Love it. 👍😎👍 I think it would be cool just to have around, wether you restore it or not. But then again, you KNOW you'd have a standing invitation, to ride it in the St. Patrick's Day parade. 😁

This is yet another reason I am so attached to classic frames, many of which are works of art.

The drivetrain view.
The entire bike is intact, and the leather saddle is disintegrating, besdies that its looks like a good restoration candidate. The lucky part, is its My Size.

Looks alot like @randyjawa 's former example, except for details like how the RD is attached. Very cool.
Any idea how old? Maybe around 1960?

Im a complete newbie to anything prior to 1979, so far havent found any info on dating this bicycle. Supposedly Automoto were bought out by Peugeot in the early 60's and the last ones were manufactured soon after, so Who knows.

I went to a local estate sale looking for 50's vintage drawings for my wifes collection,,I ran across this bike leaning up against a garage and snatched it up quickly. Im not into Classic bikes from the pre 1970's so I purchased it simply because of the artistic value of the machine. Im glad I did.
