Flandis no longer TdF winner
I just heard on our local news that the Tour is no longer recognizing Flandis as last years winner and will be naming Pirero as the new winner. I can't find it anywhere else though.

Has the verdict been reached/leaked, then?

I am tired of the french "stripping" titles from some people but not others. After Riis confessed to doping the french made all sorts of comments - but didn't they have a rider a while ago who was also involved in some doping scandal yet they did not take away his jersey? (I think it was a KOM guy)

From what I understand, the Tour organizers can and will do what they want regardless of the out come.
Does anyone know different?

"In 2006, American Floyd Landis won in Montpellier on the way to Tour triumph. He was later disqualified for failing a drugs test and his victory declared void. Oscar Pereiro, the runner-up, is still yet to be named winner of the race."
Was he officially disqualified?

Only the French could F up the process this badly. What a bunch of le maroons.
To paraphrase Phil Sherwin, 'completely and utterly'. Just astonishing.

What nationality is the lab tech who handled all of Floyd's TdF blood samples? Discrediting one sourceless claim with another is a fallacy.

A long time ago Laurent Fignon failed a drug test (amphetamines) about five months after winning the Tour de France. We note the French have not yet thrown that frog out of the pond.

And Vino is no longer the Tour de France loser. He is no longer the Tour de France anything.
What a sad day for cycling. We're having FAR too many of those.
This however does not impact Pcad's love of cycling. The sun will rise in the AM and Pcad will cycle past his neighbor's homes @ 6-7AM; they will see him and mutter 'what a lunatic' once again. I can only imagine what they say when they see me do that in January.
There is no doping control at Pcad's house. Pcad is an out of control dope.

From the official Tour de France's web site archives:
"Another American, Floyd Landis, disgraced the Yellow Jersey when he was found guilty of drug use four days after his victory. A legal battle subsequently ensued." (Link: https://www.letour.fr/2007/TDF/COURSE...oire_home.html
Several months ago the web site made absolutely no reference at all to the 2006 race, so the statement above was added relatively recently. Prior to this, the organizers made no secret of their opinion of Landis. They had said previously that they did not consider him to be the winner of the 2006 Tour, although I don't they could formally change the results without a verdict in his doping case and/or Landis being sanctioned by the UCI. (https://www.cyclingpost.com/tour/article_004634.shtml )
During the 2007 Tour route announcement, the video presentation showed an image of Landis breaking like a cracked mirror. (https://www.cyclingnews.com/road/2007...t06/oct26news3) So, the race organizers' opinion is pretty clear cut. However, it seems like they have to wait for the hearing process to play out before formally declaring Periero to be the winner.
