Ah. Never got behind gin, although I haven't given it much of a shot either. Whiskey is where it's at for me.

With how many variations there are, and how many different ways to make a martini, it's awkward in this day and age to hear someone imply that there is only one way to make one. It's very set in the way back times and frankly a bit elitist to judge others because they don't make a martini the same way that was originally intended but now has diluted into a number of ways.

Also, why doesn't this forum have a "ride photo thread"? It's one of my favorite threads on some other sites because it's fun seeing where other people ride and the new scenery, and I like sharing my photos as well.

Fake id, sometimes it nice to have a couple of beers and watch a game before you go out, or before you start your hw on sunday.

I had elitist taste in beer when I still drank and $7 pints didn't even phase me... it was really weird when I was paying %9 for a snifter.

it's not even elitist taste, normal price at most bars is 6-7.5 for a beer. A bud light costs $1 less than a guinness. Shots are the killers. A buddy and I were talking with a guy who works for the national bank of Ireland, and is stationed in D.C. for some international relations thing, and right before we left i offered to buy us three shots of whiskey. Cost me an arm and a leg, but the guy quickly bought us 3 more rounds, and the bartender threw in one round for free as well.

Now that sounds semi reasonable. Reminiscent of the $1 pitchers of Miller on Friday nights at Red Sails bar in Onalaska, WI in my college days (almost 30 years ago). I am also reminded of some painful Saturday mornings needing to get up early and go to work...

^ $1 Pitchers**********
i don't know if it's d.c. or what, but things are expensive. The bar i live on top of has $15 pitchers regular price and $10 specials. I made the mistake of coming home really drunk one night and going there to buy more. Now everyone who works there knows me, and thinks of me as a regular...

Try Manhattan.

Around here if if you pay more than $3 for a pint of domestic big brewery lager you're getting boned or you're in an echappist approved highbrow joint. Specialties, good imports and micros, I've paid up to $12 for good stuff that you can't get anywhere else.

I remember in Chicago if you want Miller Lite, there are sooooo many places you can get dollar drafts. Here nothing that cheap really exists unless it's a special weeknight deal, but I used to prefer good beers, microbrews, crafts, etc. That stuff is pretty similar price almost everywhere.

Are you misspelling works to make jsut feel like he fits in, or did you have too many aforementioned beers?
