Addiction LXXVII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Discharged and home, even if not comfy at the moment. But you should have seen the shock I experienced when I walked out . . . the waiting room that was pure hell yesterday, wall to wall sick people, standing room only . . . was half empty today. It was a stunning contrast, I had to stand and stare in disbelief for a moment, until one surly patient gave me a dirty look.

Anyway, talked with a doctor today, they did a cat scan with contrast today, found nothing and sent me home with a prescription and a referral for a neurologist. I think he considers it a cluster headache, and who knows why they happen. Gave me some Fioricet but it better start working better than this because I’m hurting right now. Regular extra strength Tylenol is waiting in the wings ready and able to carry the ball.

Sucks that they don't know the cause, but glad there's nothing severe (at least so far). And at least you're home now.

Lived in Hershey for 3 years (for residency), when the wind blew the rift way you could smell the chocolate in the air.

Fioricet is gobbich and it’s mainly tylenol. So don’t combine them. Use what works best.

I am rather surprised they did not suggest steroids.

The sugar, fat, grain, nut-free diet. What's left? Rice cakes and sweet potatoes?

When your regimen is too hardcore for LAJ , it's hardcore.

Yes, thanks Hummer. Going to visit a neurologist to get an opinion, this is not the first time an ER doc threw up his hands. I think they consider headaches an inevitable part of life.

Totally agree, it is not getting the job done. Switching to Ibu for the rest of the evening.

Hey, I appreciate all the help you two guys have provided, very comforting.

I do wish these episodes were somehow predictable so I could do something to avoid them.

i hope you get to the bottom of it @BillyD!

I get the debilitating head aches maybe once a year, but they’ve never (knock on wood) lasted more than half a day so it must be quite a *****storm you must be going thru right now.
