handlebar width and handling?

Help me understand physics!

I have hybrid (really just a flat bar road bike), and I am considering cutting the bars shorter...I ride A lot on my bar ends, and my hands feel wide when I do that. On the actual grips seemsOk.

But...what effect does handlebar width have on stability durring high speed descents? (I use the actual grips on descents, cuz that's where the brakes are)

Get more than one of the same handle bar to cut to various widths, and run your opinion dependent test Yourself..
