Need a nudge-Raleigh Competition GS
https://lexington.craigslist.org/bik...956974881.html
Going to see this bike today. It is 2 miles from my house. I absolutely do not need it--no empty hooks left in garage and lately I have been spending more time reading/working on bikes than riding them. (temporary problem) On the other hand, this bike looks to be my size and appears to be perfectly preserved under a layer of dust. l am guessing its a 1978, and according to that catalog, it looks completely original. My biggest reason for getting it would be that in my time reading these forums, I have read enough praises for campy that my collection will feel incomplete if I don't have a Campagnolo equipped bike. I have also read many praises of varying degrees of this frameset. My questions are:
1. Is this groupset (Gran Sport) and Nuovo Tipo hubs worthy of my time, or should I hold out for Record to satisfy the Campy curiosity?
2. I am slightly familiar with Raliegh, and not at all with Campagnolo. Are there any obvious problems or omissions that the eagle-eyed among you can spot? (non-drive side pics...i know)
3. Will I need any campy specific tools to service headset, bb, and hubs of this vintage? Are they rare or costly?
4. From everything I have read on here, this seems a fair price, but since this bike would be a pure impulse buy, I might as well swing for the home run and haggle a bit. What are your thoughts value wise? I don't want to insult the guy.
Thanks!

When you get there, show seller photo of the Lotus for $225 and the Puch $150 that are both local on Cl and say you are torn between these three. I'd start at $225 and see if he starts to bite. Having said that the GS is in great shape. I can't recall but believe I just used Park tools to remove the few Campagnolo BB's I have taken out.

Of just show him this listing for last sold on eBay (Sold $75 plus shipping). Point out lots for sale but no buyers.
