Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fortunately your sweetheart has a couple days off.

Her flight back from NYC to Richmond today was canceled because of their total chaos at the ATL airport thanks to a power outage. The soonest they could re-book her was for tomorrow, so she ended up buying a train ticket and is currently "enjoying" the northeast corridor's legendary service aboard Amtrak for a 6 hour slog.
Could have been worse. Bad derailment in Washington State this morning. Casualties reported.

In brighter rail news, Switzerland has opened a new super steep fenicular railway up to Stoos. Pretty cool how the passenger compartments can rotate to stay level.

Here's hoping. They cost as much as a car tire.

Mrs. rpen has returned home.

With a prescription for yet one more antibiotic. So let’s see: that’s Augmentin, piperacillin-tazobactam, Vancomycin, azythromycin and now Levaquin.

Surely they must have missed something.
