1977 Paramount

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/bik/d/redwood-city-1977-schwinn-paramount/7649869987.html

No connection what so ever here. Looking at the collective wisdom of the group.

Do the front forks look bowed in to you? From the straight on angle its hard to tell but it looks a bit bent to me. I could be wrong too.

Price seems optimistic or is this in the ball park?

Again, not mine but always looking at Paramounts..

Thanks!

Yeah, possibly. Terrible pics for an $1800 bike, but what else is new...

Looks to be in VERY GOOD condition.

Cannot tell the condition of the brake hoods .

The price is " high", but that's the case in San Francisco.

If you want it and it fits you offer 1400.00 ???? IF all set to go and ready to ride

There is one in MAINE that has been for sale for 2 YEARS $ 2200.00 !!!!!
It is in excellent condition......but WAY too much IMO

Thanks for fixing the link SurferRosa! And all the replies so far.

Dont need it but its been on the bucket list for a long time. Brother had a chrome 72 back when I was a kid and I always loved that bike.

Currently have a nice 85 Bianchi Vittoria and a 72 Raleigh Professional that I love dearly but this would be the ultimate vintage collection addition for me but not at that price..

Concur with the others; price is optimistic but it is the Bay area and the buyer is likely willing to wait a while to get his or her price. It's not as if buyers with money are lacking in that part of the world assuming they are into old bikes.

Dude thinks this sticker is worth 500 bucks. That's the mentality of the flippers here.

I remember Jacks in Mountain View, Jocelyn's in Palo Alto and Walt's Cycle in Sunnyvale which is still in business.

Wife got her Varsity at Walts back in the day growing up in Sunnyvale. Jocelyn's was a Raleigh dealer among other european marquees if I remeber correctly and did not carry Schwinn but that was a long time ago. I grew up not far from them so it was like a wishbook for a young lad.

It’s hard to say , given the photos , but that looks barely ridden. The right buyer may come along. It is a tall bike (my size!) and that narrows the field of perspective buyers. My humble opinion , $500- $600 over market for a fine example in this size.

Well, it has been for sale for over 15 days already. The market has spoken.

I see nice Chicago Paramount local sales in the $1000 or less price range. I've been both a buyer and a seller.

XL size makes customers scarce.

This one in a more sellable size is $800.

https://sandiego.craigslist.org/ssd/...650376138.html

This one with some component issues is $500, and has been for sale for over a month.

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/bik...644478058.html

There are many more examples out there.

I hope you're at least 6'-2" tall or, you're never gonna fit that big thing.

Well if you want that bike in that size today it is $1,800. About half of that cost is not for the bike but for the instant gratification.

Honestly even if he sold it for that it would not change the fact that it was overpriced, an outlier on the marketplace. The earlier you go the more expensive they get so that's probably early '60s values.

That's the other bit here; much earlier Paramount bikes are worth more but sometimes sellers just look up the name and pick their price based on what the top of the market is asking without looking at the year.

Think he is going to have it a long time at that price honestly. If I did not have the Raleigh it might be another story.
