24" cruiser for old-guy racing
I believe that to get back into racing (age 52), I will soon purchase a 24" cruiser. It seems that there exist real racers such as the Haro Race lite Pro, as well as retro/fun bikes like the Monza 24 and Race Inc. 24.
Do any of you know which bikes are actually being raced in USA BMX 50-55 age range? It seems like a modern racer would be the way to go, but with all the nostalgia surrounding BMX maybe not?
I welcome any thoughts on this.

Get a real race bike. The old guys are racing mostly the same bikes the elites are.
Modern tracks are a lot different than back in the day when those retro bikes were raced.
Also - don't be too attached to cruiser - some guys love their cruisers, but I just can't get comfortable on mine. Feels unwieldy. But match it to your local track - if the guys your age are racing cruiser there, then get one.

I love the looks of BMX Race bikes. Stretched out, low and aggressive stance.
Haro's Blackout XL gets my blood boiling but the price tag of a BNIB puts it back to simmer

Z's Bike Fix
There are a bunch of used bikes around too. There's an Ontario BMX Racing Buy/Sell Trade group on Facebook, and there's usually a group for each track. Might be a single one for Stouffville & Milton, but I'm not down there enough to be in those groups.
