Is my hub jacked?
I've been working on a new project, overhauling a 1984 Lotus Unique. I was getting ready to take the cogs off the rear wheel when I noticed two of the spokes were totally loose. I discovered what you see in the picture. Is the hub totally jacked? Or can I ride minus two spokes?
If it's jacked, any advice on where to find a replacement? eBay was unhelpful.

Yes, your hub is 100% screwed. Do not ride that bike. You need a new wheel or a new hub.
For those of you who don't feel like looking at the picture, imagine a large chunk taken out of the flange opening up two spoke holes and the spokes loose.

I don't see any pictures of the hub, but I looked up the specs for a 1984 Lotus Unique and it lists a Suntour sealed bearing hub. I remember that Specialized also had sealed bearing hubs back then. At one time I was thinking if using them.
I did a little research and I think Suntour and Specialized sealed bearing hubs were made by Sansin. If you are trying to keep the bike spec correct, I'd look up Suntour, Specialized, and Sansin sealed hubs on eBay and you will probably find something that will work.
If you don't care about getting the same hubs, then just look for a good older set of wheels that will fit.
Note: You need to make sure of the rear dropout width (120/126mm?) and the rim size because the specs I saw for the bike listed a 27" diameter rim... your current rim/tires will list the size (700 or 27").

EDIT: Hopefully a real wheel building expert can tell you if the ERD are the same for all 3 hubs. Then all you need to do is re-lace the old rim to the new hub with the existing spokes... provided the rim and spokes are in good working condition.

I think it should be OK. I would continue riding the bike.

I think I fixed the picture by just making it a link. But, it seems like I have a near consensus answer without it.
I am trying to keep the bike as close to original as possible. Looks like I'll be trolling eBay for a while...

If a person is out on a trip, one can often do a reasonable job truing a wheel short one spoke. Maybe even short two spokes. Not perfect, but one can make it ridable.
But, as mentioned, find a new hub/wheel.
Consider your options carefully. This could also be a good time to upgrade. Personally I was late adopting cassettes, but now I won't ride without them.
