How many people here smoke...

cigarettes? I met 5 other mtn bikers today at the end of my ride in the parking lot. Three of the five were having a post ride cigarette. Just curious if this is common.

Btw.. for all you youngsters out there, it is not cool to smoke..

nope don't smoke and never plan to... would only compromise my riding style, my friends, the chances of ever having kids, a longer life, etc. etc.

Smoking after a bike ride makes as much sense to me as getting a diet coke with a Big Mac extra value meal.

Of course smoking doesnt make any sense to me.

I know a fellow MTB'er that smokes, but he's working on quitting after being off the trails for a while. As for me, I quit before I picked up MTB'ing, thankfully....

I think it would be really hard to smoke and be a strong rider. I don't smoke, then again I'm only 14. I wouldn't if I was older though. Just seems nasty...

I hate it when you're out drinkin somewhere and you're just about to go and hit on some hot chick and then she pulls out a cig and lights it up. Total turnoff.

Not me, quit five years, five months and nine days ago. Best thing I ever did. Went from smoking three packs a day to none in one day flat.

Quitting is an easy process but it's very hard mentally. If you have determination, just wake up and don't smoke from then on. You'll puke, you'll get monsterous headaches but you will get better in a matter of days.

Congradulations LowCel, truly amazing.

Used to, quit...occasionally have a relapse, but havent had one in a while.

I love smoking, but it will kill you, and i try not to partake in things that will kill me too often, so i quit. Never stop wanting one though...

Smoking was proven to be as hard to quit as crystal meth and cocain in extreme cases... thats just nuts.

Completely ignoring the fact of the very humerous jaunt when it was "legal."

Then the US ceased all trade with Cananda. BAM! Illegal again.

Yup, at one point I was smoking three packs of Marlboro Reds a day. I eventually decided that was bad for me so I switched to three packs of Marlboro Lights a day. I was pretty health conscience. At this time I also drank like a fish. I hit the bars at 8:00 at night and hung out until midnight (weekdays) or 2:00 am (weekends) until my girlfriend (now wife) got off of work since she was a bartender. After that we hit the after hours bars until sometime between 4:00 am and 6:00 am. Then I got a few hours sleep and headed to work. I did this six days a week.

Needless to say I've made a few changes with my life.
