correct lube for hub rubber seals?
My hubs have rubber seals. If I use a bicycle grease it seems to drag. If I use WD-40 it spins freely. What is the preferred lube to use (I assume WD-40 is not a good long term solution).
Thanks!
Thanks!

Use the same grease used for the bearings. WD-40 is a solvent and will dissolve the bearing grease. If your seals are new they will loosen up over time. Dragging seals are normal to some extent and are not noticeable when riding and keep your bearings/grease clean and long lasting.

Do not use WD40. Unless you're using the regular oil and not the penetrating stuff. If the seals hold oil I would put in some straight 30 wgt, My truck has rubber seals and I put in straight 30 wt, not grease. But grease is the preferred lube for most hubs because it doesn't leak out or wash out like oil. Caveat here-I'm no expert. But I'm sure there'll be a few of them posting here soon. haha
