Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

i read it last nite. pretty interesting read.

when i can't deliver packages for our company myself, I hire couriers.. i switched our (minimal) business from Arrow to 4star a while back, and the service has been excellent. plus, Mike is the brains behind the Tour da Chicago, and the rest of the crew (Jen, Josh et al) are familiar faces at races and such. personal service, cool people, great business model.

i love/hate her articles. every time i get sucked into one of her Chicago Antisocials i ask myself why. and then i choke on my latte from sudden laughter, brought on by her unbridled cynicism.

Wow, an article that doesn't talk about crazy brakeless riders and the economic reality of messengers.
