Heat or cold...which one to do prefer?
Even though we're in the grip of a hellish August, cooler weather is right around the corner. And to top it off, we're about to move to a MUCH colder climate than our native Georgia.
So which weather had you rather ride in? I'd MUCH rather ride in cold weather than hot weather. Give me 0 over 95 any day.

Sixties are nice.
Fifties you have to dress for and it's hard to get it right. If it is going to be cooler than Sixty I'd rather have Forties or even Thirties: much easier to dress for.

I've only experienced riding in heat while commuting. I'm looking forward to the fall and riding in cooler temps ..... I'll come back to this thread in October for evaluation...

So long as the sky is dry, it doesn't matter.

Heat. I'm a "skinny bastahd" (to quote someone on BF) with thin blood; I can't do cold. But I commute in it anyway (if NC winters can be called cold)

Cold for me. I can always add and subtract layers. Once you get down to that final layer in the heat, you run certain risks (and certain pain) if you remove it.

Now that I moved to a buiding with showers, I'll take the heat just fine. I like the cold, too, but not when it gets below about 10 deg. F. That's a pain.

Definitely prefer the heat. I'll take 100 degrees and 100 percent humidity vs. anything below 50. Burr.

it was 11 degrees 'C' here this morning and it was wonderful. I much prefer cooler days for riding.

there are so few "nice" days here i just assume it's gonna be cold or hot or wet, sometimes all 3 in one day!

I'm happy when the temperature is between 60F (16C) and 95F (35C).
When it's cold all I can think about is how f***ing cold it is.

We've also thought about Anchorage for the snowy winters and the scenery in Alaska. We've vacationed there a few times (even in the winter) and really like it. If it were a little more cycling friendly, we'd be all over it. But unless you live and work on a trail, commuting and car-lite seems like it would be a struggle there.

I'm really liking not needing to change/dress-up for the winter - but I sweat like a hog, even in colder weather. By my nature, I'm much more comfortable in cooler/cold weather - I can always warm up, rarely easy to cool down in the swarming heat that we get here sometimes. I guess we'll see how I feel about it this coming cold season, last year started to drag with the dress-up routine after a while.
