Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Worth Buying? Fuji Gran Fondo 2.0 LE Classico

Hi everyone! I'm totally new to this forum and preparing for my first road bike event in 2020. I'm building up some courage to buy my first bike and welcome your feedback and opinion on this set:
  • Fuji Gran Fondo 2.0 LE Classico from Performance Bicycle
  • Approximate year 2015 or 2016
  • Shimano Ultegra shifters, and front and rear derailleurs
  • 11-speed rear derailleur. comes with a 50 tooth big ring and a 34 tooth small ring
  • 61cm frame and I'm 6'4''
  • Upgraded to Ultegra brakes
Asking price around $600 to $700. What do you think?

That’s a nice bike if it fits. Is it NOS and if not what is the condition?

Gently used with little wear. Thank you for the feedback. XXL frames are hard to come by so bike ride, brand reputation, warranty and price point are key factors for me 🙏

Most manufacturer's warranties are only for the original owner and not in effect on used bike purchases.

Yep.

Advanced Sports Inc. provides the original retail purchaser of each new Fuji bicycle the following
warranty against defects in materials and workmanship;

I have the Al version (Sportif), 2017 or 2018 ... I Love the bike. I would have bought the Fondo but I wanted a knock-around bike which I could use for work, touring, throw it in the back of a pick-up if needed .... I have enough Carbon. But otherwise, i would have bought it.

This is my rain bike (discs,) my work bike, my go-to bike for errands, for days when I want that 32-tooth cog, and it has never let me down. zero mechanical faults, no squeaks or creaks or rattles .... it is just always ready to g, even with a dirty chain and caked with mud from the last rain ride. I cannot say enough about it ....

Mine has 105, but obviously Ultegra would be tolerable ....
