Anyone use these? What cycling apps are good?

All I know is that the GPS kills the battery when I use a tracking program on my iPhone. If you do short rides, you should be OK though...

cyclemeter is great. can be used for running, biking, and skiing (has a swim option as well but i dunno how'd that work). easy on the battery and accurate GPS stats.
if you're having battery issues, try tapping the main button twice when it's unlocked to see how many background apps are running. close em all (like how you delete apps) for longer battery life.

TrainingPeaks just announced the acquisition of the SprintGPS line of iPhone apps (including Cycle Tracker Pro) which integrate with TrainingPeaks tracking software.
The app is on sale in the app store through 3/23 for $0.99 before going to it's regular price of $4.99. All proceeds from app sales through 3/23 are being donated to three charities - details are here:

I use Cycle Log to log my workouts - it is quick and simple to copy stats from my bike computer to the app. I also have subscribed to MapMyRide - which is free - but requires an account that you can link to via the web. I am only beginning to experiment with using the GPS function to capture ride info. I will probably use both for a while and see which one ends up being better.

I have to say I like using mapmyride too just for plotting new bike routes.
Don't have an iPhone unfortunatly but like the website.

mapmyride will post calories burned at the end of the ride, and your friends can track your ride live through their site.

Haha, so your friends can text you while your riding asking why you are going so slow!

I have tried quite a few and the best IMO is cyclemeter.
I use it daily on my commute and it will lower the volume of my ipod to tell me a variety of stats such as current speed, average speed, distance, distance remaining, and time ahead/behind best
I get pushed to go faster everyday and I love it.
I have it set to give me stats every mile.

But the real issue is about Garmin. Are the Garmin GPS devices better suited to handle cycling related activity than any of the smart phones out there with their applications? I wouldn't wait for Consumer Reports on this one.
Garmin supports a road racing team, Garmin-Cervelo.
