Addiction LXXX

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Note also that RNA is much more labile than DNA. We always store RNA preps at -80, and ship on dry ice. DNA, we sometime ship ambient.

Ah. I was thinking, "Once it's frozen solid, what difference does the temperature make." But I guess even at OF it's not frozen solid.

It’s not frozen solid until absolute zero.

Not me. I was wearing too much cotton to be riding in such high temps.

I was climbing the closed road today when 3 e-bikes flew past me, just as some hikers were walking the other direction. One of the girls hiking asked me if she should give me a push. I guess she felt sorry for me not keeping up with the other bikes. I told her they were e-bikes and I was going to get one when I turn 70.

True. Usually we add glycerol or DMSO to cryopreserve things because freezing cells, or even proteins in aqueous solutions without it will **** them up but good.

If the Everesting record seems out of reach there's always this pathway to fame.
