Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

1.5 inches of freezing rain on the ground this morning when I left for work, and it was still coming down hard.
Didn’t feel that slick, car handled well. Most cars were doing 40 or below but it always amazes me when someone passes going super fast.

Did you hear about that massive chain reaction crash in Texas? Six people killed. More than 100 cars involved.

Winter weather continues to disappoint. It will be very cold tomorrow with icy streets still a risk. Ice storm expected Saturday night. I might be able to sneak in a ride on Sunday afternoon but looks most likely it will be 100% fake miles for awhile longer.

A question for the Garmin folks with multiple bikes - is there a way to set it up so that it'll autodetect which bike is being used and/or select activity type (Road or Gravel and associated info screens) based on the sensors?

I now have both bikes (R3 and Haano) entered under Gear. The power meter (with cadence) is on the R3 and I just installed my old Garmin Speed/Cadence sensor on the Haanjo. I do not see any way of associating a sensor with a particular bike or a activity type.

A cursory search yields muddled answers. TIA!

Not only have I never found any feature that allowed automatic detection of which bike, I never found anything on Garmin Connect software that would allow me to tell it which bike I had ridden. Might just be me, but it doesn't seem set up for multibike guys like me.

That's not what I want to hear.

I'll keep looking on the 'nets, but I was hoping someone might have a quick, affirmative answer.

My 500's have the names of the bikes, and once you choose the bike, the sensors on that bike pair or in the case of power, ask to calibrate. It only stores 3 bikes, which sucks. The 520 just stores them all and finds the sensor, no matter which bike it may be on.

What I liked about it was that you didn't need to be a serious chess player to enjoy it and understand it.

My cheapo Lezyne is like that too and has different custom screen setups for the two bikes. Don't know how many it stores.
