Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Seeing Red - Bike Pics

Made a few changes over the Winter (saddle, tires, bar wrap, seat bag), still looking at wheels maybe later this year. Not traditional, but I like the red.

I like the look a lot. I'm particularly fond of colored tires. Tell me something about the bar tape.

Thanks guys.

fmw, It's Fizik Microtex Bar Tape, has sort of a leather look. Feels good, several colors available.

uga8589, The second computer is a Garmin GPS, I don't use it all the time, so still like the basic Cateye for total mileage, etc...

That tape is awesome, it feels really grippy and soft.

Mirror

The mirror is sold by aspirevelotech.com. I have had one for a year of so, it works great. I have had two fusions in my neck, and have a limited range of motion. These mirrors work great, and are a lot better looking than most. I have no relationship with the seller, just a satisfied customer. They cost about $23

The bag is a Cannondale, but an older US made version. I found it on ebay, here is another pic:

Nice red bags in the stores are hard to find, I looked on ebay for about 4 - 6 weeks on and off before I found the Cannondale bag.

The GPS is a Garmin Edge, and it comes with a simple little mount that attaches with zip ties.

What wheels are you looking at, I'm happy so far with these. I did pull the decals off though... mine looked nasty after a while

That is the question. I've not had any trouble although they do flex a bit under heavy side load. Basically something lighter. I would like a Campy or Rolf wheel, but they get real expensive real fast. A Neuvation or Mike Garcia wheel makes more sense financially. Or I might hold off and get a second bike in a year or two. Maybe a Six/13 or something a little more high end, but I really like Campy. so that limits a lot of new bikes.

I never cared for Cannondales until I saw yours. That is a really nice bike. I wonder if that puts you in contention for an OCP membership. Good luck

Thanks, I'm a fair bit OCP, as my helmet and most of my jerseys have a little red.
