Bunch of pictures Team Z Lemond

Finally got my hands on one of these courtesy of verktyg .

Finally took the time a few minutes ago to grab a set of pictures.

This is pretty much just as I got it from him. About the only thing I did was touch up the red paint on the bottle holders.

Nice photos, nice bike.

It looks like it has zero miles on it.

I'm reasonably certain that can be corrected.

I will ride it but this one will be as close to a "wall hanger" as I ever had. I actually have a blue Maillot Jaune (TSX) also and that bike is amazingly good on the road. Easily one of the better bikes I have. That's one reason it was hard to buy this. I essentially all ready have it. But man I wanted one in these colors for so many years. Totally irrational I know....

No need to justify, especially not with me.

Sometimes we get a sweet tooth for a certain bike and we just have to have it.

I have two bikes right not now that are hanging above my office desk.

I love to just look at them and I think they have only been ridden a handful of times this season.

Oh well.

So is this a Della Santa frame? I only know the basics about the brand.
Stunning bike.

Stunning bike.
No, this were built by Billato of Italy. Della Santa did a small number of the early Team Lemond Frames. Then Carnelli did most of the bulk of them. Then these Greg Lemond bikes were built by Billato for years up to when Greg entered into a deal with Trek to start making the Trek era bikes. There were also some TVT bikes, Ti bikes, and Calfee Carbon Fiber ones....

That's how I was, wanting a 7-11-painted Merckx, just because one turned up!
Already had a perfect-fitting TSX Century model but... (and the price was right).

NICE BIKE btw!

That is gorgeous! Congrats on your acquisitions, and kudos to verktyg for being such a good caretaker.

Fyi, the Team Z titanium bikes were built by Merlin. I confirmed this first-hand from one of the original Merlin builders, Mike Augsburger, whose sister used to be a co-rker.

Stunning! Any tips on how to find one of these?
