Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Time to pump tires.

What a pleasant morning. 70s. Low humidity. After participating in an 8 am conference call while home I took a ride to Reading Terminal, which is a giant, indoor farm market and food court-type place. Scored a while pompano and some sweet corn from PA Dutch country.

Too bad I am now in the office.

100+ here again today. I'm meeting some other people who don't work and we are going up to 7000 feet again. Nice up there.

Love the cooler air at elevation. Unlessen' is snows or something. I've been caught between 7-8,000' feet when that's happened.

My wife managed a 21 mile ride relatively pain free at a sedate 15.2 mph. Humidity held off a little till we got home.

Bummer. It’s a perfect day for a ride. Guess what I did today?

Add in some 2" PVC and some lumber yet to be scared up, and the rollers project will get underway.

I've finally figured out how to upload pics to bf. Email them to myself and download from there. Then upload. Seems to be the only way. I have no download option from my gallery

That plastic chair came with the house we bought in Merida, 12 years ago. How old was it then? It comes from the days that even plastic chairs were made to last.

Yup. I love to climb. My friend had us skip the nastiest hill since he fears anything over 8%. But it’s so hilly around here, even a flat route is going to have 50 feet/mile unless you go on the dreaded MUPs, which is really dumb most of the time.

Even I like a little bit of climbing - the end of my last 200k was dreadfully flat and I was looking for any excuse to get out of the saddle just to get my body in a different position and give my sit bones a break.
