your input on a new bike for me (giant)
my LBS sells giant, matter of fact their are 2 local giant dealers and both are great, friendly and helpful.
i currently ride a 2015 giant defy, the lower end one. in 2017 i'm thinking of upgrading and was thinking about these two bikes of choice,
the giant defy carbon frame with 105 group set and the giant tcr with 105 group set.
i live in the flat lands and disk are not really needed so lower weight is better? i like the tcr with it's racey feel and lower weight(no disk brakes).most of my riding is between 30 to 50 miles(week nights). i would like to do more long rides now that i'm getter better at going 50 , 60 and the occasional 70 miles on weekends. so i feel maybe the defy would be best? i've heard that the tcr weights in about 16lbs and the defy about 20lbs, my defy ready to ride is 24lbs.
so can the tcr be set up a little more comfy for long rides? and is the weight difference between the 2 enough to worry about? my brother rides a 2016 tcr but he rides a small frame and i ride a medium, i rode his bike and while not really fitting me it did give me a feel for light weight and the smoother shifting and better gearing of the 11 speed 105 vs my lower level 8 speed aluminum bike.
thanks for you input

Go with the TCR. It's a fantastic bike for the money and you can set it up fairly comfortable. Make sure you choose the correct size. I have both a M and a ML tcr and I prefer the M for racing since it brings me down low and it has a more aggresive steering with longer stem. If you are worried about comfort you may be able to ride the ML with longer head tube.
The TCR is giant's latest and greatest and it won't dissapoint. It is arguably one if the best bikes for the money on the market.

I love my TCR Advanced 2. Hard to beat for the price, full 105 too, and the matte blue color looks great.
