2019 Giant Advanced Defy 1 or new 2015 Domane 4.7 for the same price?
The Giant has current gen 105, disk brakes, 28mm tires.

Domane is new with prior gen Ultegra, rim brakes 25mm tires.

Which one is the better bike at the same price?
Thanks!

You're either getting a great price on the Giant or a horrible price on the Trek - what's the story?

If the Domane is anywhere near 2500, you can certainly pick up a brand new 2019 with full 105 groupo with hydraulic disc brakes. I just paid 2500 for my 2019 Domane SL5 a few months back.
If you’re only options are those two I would definitely get the Giant.

Thanks. I can get the the Giant for $600 less than the 2019 Domane with 105.

Honestly I don’t think you can go wrong with either but the best advice anyone could give you is to go and ride both of them and see which one you click with. I love my Domane and wouldn’t give it up for anything but that’s because I clicked with the way it felt and I love riding it every day. 🙂

Giant was high on my list when I was shopping, too. The main things that give me pause are the hybrid brakes and the wheels (though, at this price bracket, nothing is going to have great wheels... but they're like 2kg or something, IIRC - enough that I'd want to replace them as soon as possible).

Disc or rim? If we're talking hydro disc, it would be worth the $600 to me. The frame is great - really helps with the bumps and cracks in less-than-perfect roads and keeps me from feeling as beat-up on longer rides.

Have you looked at a CAAD 12 w/105 for $1350? That's what I just paid for this one.
