2017 Giant TCR Advanced 2 Pricing
So the 2016 Giant TCR Advanced 2 had an msrp of $2000, and the 2017 Giant bikes are up on their website now, and the same exact bike is now $1650. (full 105 group, same wheels, same frame, etc). Think this is just a goof on the part of Giant, or is there a possibility it actually dropped that much in price somehow? If that's the real price, it is very enticing and significantly lower than competing bikes.

That's the correct price. I just took delivery of one from my lbs--picked it up Saturday. No idea why the price dropped so much for exactly the same bike, but I was plenty happy about it. I was about ready to buy the thing at $2k anyway, so that was $350 straight back into my pocket.

Price drop on the 2017 Defy as well. I just ordered the 2017 Defy Advanced Pro 0 $4700 . The 2016 price was $5100. Granted it had Dura Ace mechanical vs Ultegra Di2.

Sounds like the TCR Advanced is a killer deal. I like the TCR 2 in Black/Neon Red. Too bad my LBS wound have them until next month, but I think this will be my new bike. By the way, what does TCR stand for?

The Defy Advanced 1 is $225 cheaper than last year. Hydraulic brakes are new & I wish I had them. I like the color of my blue & red frame better than any of this years colors. I got mine a couple months ago for $600 off on sale.

I want it in that bright blue!
There is one difference between the 2016 and 2017 models at least, the 2017 is on 25mm tires instead of 23mm.

I want to try road riding as a break from MTBing and favor Giant bikes. I want to get the Giant Defy Advanced Pro 1 but can't seem to find a deal on one. I'm in no hurry, waiting and thinking about this for years now but have the choice of bike narrowed down.
Anyone know of deals on this model? Giant's site has it at $3250, UP $250! Why me Lord?

The wife's new TCR - We get a discount at our LBS and walked out the door with this last month for $1485. The red looks a lot more orange in real life.

How does it ride? I'm gonna be out for at least another 5-6 weeks due to a broken collarbone but it's looking very enticing with a price tag of $1650. I like the black color way. Haven't really considered Giant before but it's got what I'm looking for in a bike.

I love mine. It's snappy without being twitchy and the ride is surprisingly smooth. If I were more flexible, I wouldn't hesitate at all to take it out for a double century. As it is, my back can't handle that, but that's why I have an endurance-geometry bike too. I haven't owned any other race bikes, but I test rode quite a few before buying the tcr, and I'm 100% happy with my decision.

Awesome to hear. I have been on a Trek Madone 3.1, 4.3, Specialized Roubaix Comp, Fuji Altamira 2.0, and recently an R2 from Cervelo and probably enjoyed the Cervelo the most. Had good BB stiffness and rode smooth. I can't wait to be back up and riding soon so I can test ride this bike. I've also had a test run on the Trek Emonda SL 6 and the Specialized Tarmac Elite, both felt good but not as good IMHO as the R2. Hoping this frame feels like the R2 because at the price, it is a great value.
