"English Racer -Drei Stern model"

Local ad, been up for a while.
All it says is: "This bike is a vintage racer - good shape but does need tires- otherwise it would make a great bike -12 speed racer" Price is $50 though I expect it would be less.

Almost nothing on Drei Stern available, I think they made folding bikes. Looks like an odd little fellow with rusted out rims and bars and seat looks really worn but it kind of reminds of the Super course I had (this one is in worse condition). I have included all the photos offered.

Anyone familiar with these????

).

The manufacturer's name is Dreistern-Fahrradfabrik Hans Schulte, GMBH. Located in Bielefeld. They also do/have done mopeds.

No shortage of them to look at on the German language classified sites.

Th is link illustrates some of their 1950's era mopeds and scooters -

The kickstand bracket, integral stay lock and stamped dropouts indicate no higher than entry level and more like a chain store bicycle. Wing nuts and leather saddle suggest no later than early 1970s. Lots of corroded steel. In fact the only identifiable aluminum parts are the stem and brakes. The calipers look like they may be Altenburger Syncron, which would make sense on a German brand, but I haven't seen them paired with those levers. There may be some value in the leather saddle but I don't see much elsewhere, unless the non-drive side photo is hiding some rare derailleurs. The latter is doubtful and at $65 US, I'd probably pass.

I would agree fairly low end bike with basically bad wheels and a lot of rust worth about 40-50 in parts I would say pass.

It looked like a cheap diversion but since there seems no love for the bike, I shall pass...
