NOS 80s Miyata Alum Frame
Apparently a never built frame. $80. Treasure or trash?

As a keeper build, looks like fun.

For 80 bucks I'd grab it.
I have one. Its a 1400AlumiTech. This frame is likely a 90 or 91 and its a bonded frame with steel seat stays and normally a steel fork as well. I never had a problem with anything coming lose or the bonding giving up. They are sturdy. The steel stays and fork make for a reasonably plush ride, similar to steel. Mine was originally geared for crits and was tough to climb with. I re-geared mine for my aging legs.
A good all-around bike.

I believe this is actually a 1989 Miyata 1100A, as opposed to the 1400A. The main tubes and stays should be adhesive bonded aluminum. I can see the dropout sockets that the stays plug into, which is indicative of bonded aluminum. The OEM fork would have been aluminum too. These were available for sale as bare framesets or as complete bicycles with a SunTour GPX group. The geometry is the same as the Team Miyata. I've never seen a failure on Miyata APA/Alum-Tech frame. I'd consider that to be a good price.

Thanks for the responses. Quick question. Will modern Shimano durace barend shifters work on the downtube mounts?

Hope the fork is included.
