First bike! How did I do?
Hi all,
I'm new to the forum and have been avidly reading posts trying to find info about buying a bike and beginning to ride. I won this off ebay a few days ago:
https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tab%3DWatching
and am wondering how I did? Also am wondering if the Schwinn PD-A530 pedals would fit on it. And for my last question, any recommended helmets, I mean if there's any significant differences in brands.
Kris

If the bike fits you well, then you did well. Everything else is secondary.
Almost any pedal will fit. Double sided pedals are easier for beginners. Shimano is a fine brand in the $50 price range.
At low-to-moderate price levels, the main difference between helmets is how well they fit you. One-size-fits-all helmets are the hardest to fit. Better helmets come in 2 or 3 sizes. Also, some helmets fit round heads better and others fit oval heads better. Try on several and buy whatever fits you the best. Follow the fitting directions to fine tune the straps so that the helmet will hold on to your head in a crash. Better quality helmets are often easier to adjust.

Hey thanks for the reply,
Great. Umm... as for more detail into the pedals. What are the differences between these two and will either fit?
