Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How much do your wheels weigh ?

It's easy to find what a wheel itself weighs but you need tires, tubes rim tape & skewers to ride them.

Has anyone weighed their wheels set up as they ride them. Here are my two wheel sets and their actual weights with everything except a cassette.

Dura-Ace/ Open Pro 28/32 Vittoria Rubino pro 700-23 tires 2564g for the pair

Bontrager Classics 32/32 Vittoria Rubino 700-25 tires 2960g for the pair

I think we should include the cassette for this comparison, that's much easier for everybody.

They weight a lot and have a lot of spokes. I don't give a rats bum about grams. I ride bad roads and demand long service low.

Bladed, low spoke count wheels blow...Lose one spoke and the ride is over. Screw that. I'll take a heavy 36 cross three tied and soldered.

Interestingly enough, the Williams 38c's weigh less than the Open Pro set-up above, but part of that is the D.A. Cassette weight savings.

I should be amazed at how many people didn't even read the OP and are posting weights without tires/tubes, but I'm not.
