I am interested in a double leg kickstand but I'm unsure of which one is best. The German brand, "Pltscher" is a leading name but what about the other brands? Which one is the best at the task?

I love mine too. It's a boat anchor, but the convenience you add to your bike IMO is well worth it.

Wait, you dismounted, parked your bike, in traffic, during your commute ...and took a picture of your bike? I bet that guy in the Herbie bug thought you were taking a picture of him!

It's the beauty of the kickstand......you can take great pics of your bike anywhere. Lol. You described the moment perfectly. We were at a red light.

The ******** double leg kickstand is what I use on my daily commuter and it is something I could not live without. They are harder to get here in Canada, they cost double of what Americans pay, so I have two extra's in my parts bin for future use. Since the forum won't actually let me spell the name, it's the the P brand that comes from Switzerland and ends in "er".

I have a double with a hard-to-pronounce name (sorry, don't have the bike with me and can't remember).

It works well. Can't be beat when loading the bike with groceries.

Indeed, I eradicated Esge for good from our bikes and, indeed again, some of its problems were being alleviated by stuffing it solid with grease.

I have a Pletscher on one bike and a much cheaper (sunlite?) on another bike. I actually prefer the cheaper one. It's a center stand style like motorcycle have. It's more stable than the pletscher and it can be deployed from either side of the bike.

They're both great though.
