Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Agreed, and recently (within the past two years) I've gotten BIG on Chopin. I'll listen to the complete waltzes or nocturnes while working, cleaning or chilling as often as once/month.

The Ballades are what really hooked me, starting with this recording

Def get that if you don't have it. Michelangeli's recording of the Debussy preludes is up there too.

Wow, that sounds like an awesome show. Maserati's The Language of Cities is definitely near the top of my favorite albums. The Mercury Program posted that they were finishing a new EP over a year ago and then practically dropped off the map. https://www.facebook.com/themercuryprogram

Not liking music isn't really a sign of intelligence. Everybody else here is listening to their punk rock, thrash metal, classical, jazz etc. while reading the New York Times.

You said you only listen to NPR. I took this to mean you were listening to This American Life rather than AfroPop; reruns of "Car guys" rather than reruns of "Piano Jazz" and were listening to A Prairie Home Companion for "Guy Noir" rather than the music. I could be wrong.
